I believe in equality :) . Everybody is innocent until proved guilty, we don’t know the details, everyone expeculates with the Casey case, according to the facts there were “money arrangements”, for me that hints that they make the accusations to get money. Why didn’t they just leave it to the law without receiving any money if he was guilty? and if he was really guilty, why accept the money, as it would imply that his acts had been forgiven in some way, why give him that? wait. it sounds like these women are some sort of "golddiggers" according to you? never mind he abused 2 women, he also didn't pay them for their work, as a form of a retaliation after their complains. Both women insist that Affleck’s treatment only worsened when and if they objected—a campaign of retaliation and verbal abuse that ultimately culminated in his refusal to honor their contracts.
After White objected to Affleck’s behavior, she said he failed to pay her agreed upon producer’s fee. According to White, he also failed to pay her a “living wage” while she was working on the mockumentary. At the time of her complaint filing, White maintained that she had not been paid for any of the work she did on the film—a project she said she toiled on for over three months. Affleck refused to honor the terms of [Gorka] employment agreement, which included a “Director of Photography” credit on the film. linkthey had the right to demand money from him, for what he did to them but also because they simply earned them for their work!!! imo

Personally I didn't have a problem with him winning on these grounds (I was rooting for Denzel because I liked his performance so much). It's an award for acting, we're not running him for Congress. If the allegations are true (which they probably are) then he's a jerk, but that doesn't have anything to do with the performance. It's funny that a lot of the people making a big deal about this are the anti-Hollywood types who on one hand criticize awards for being a "popularity contest" but then complain about this.
There are obviously more extreme situations like with Polanski or Woody Allen (or Nate Parker, who people have erroneously compared this situation to trying to find a "double standard") but those allegations are on a completely different planet than what Affleck is accused of doing.

I suggest don't do it. Everyone has a right to their opinion. And I'm pretty sure people here respect that even if they don't necessarily agree with each other. Also, if guests can't access then I guess that should be enough.

Hmm...to me that guy sounds more like he wants to get attention by calling for lynch mob now. Are allegations without proof enough for someone to get banned for life ? So for example, if someone suddenly says: "Tom Hanks molested me ten years ago" without any concrete evidence would he be ostracized permanently from society and his career destroyed ? Yes ?
I'm not defending Casey if he is guilty, we don't know that for sure. I only don't like this mob lynch mentality. In times like that it's almost sure someone innocent will be hurt and there always will be around people who wants to use it for their own personal advantage - in this or another way (remember Salem in the 1690s or McCarthyism in the 1950s ?)

To me Weinstein is very guilty, he deserves an apple in his mouth and go straight ahead to the oven. Spacey excuse makes him sound very guilty. Casey in the other hand, I’ve never seen the faces of his accusers, I’m not defending him but the whole thing sounded like they wanted money. I agree with mortimer605, this Cameron Bossert is seeking for attention.

I`m in favor of exposing any man who has sexually harassed/assaulted women but I do agree that we have to be careful not to condemn every man who is accused unless there is real proof like there there was with Weinstein and Toback. It can`t be an indiscriminate witch hunt.

This isn't going anywhere. Unless they have undeniable proof, nothing's going to change.

Don't pass that judgement so easily, it's very difficult to come out against someone who's more powerful than you.

No. I felt the need to respond because you said it in such a matter of fact way.

Given the current climate,I`m pretty sure Casey Affleck wouldn`t be winning an Oscar if he`d been nominated this year.Bryan Singer should be the next to fall
