The film, adapted from David Harrower's play "Blackbird," feels like a high-wire act, constantly balancing on the tense edge of a fall into the abyss. It zigs where you think it will zag, and takes its time getting to the payoff, but it's worth it. Dealing with a complicated and difficult subject, "Una" slowly untangles the past and the present, unraveling a web of secrets and half-truths that keep one waiting with bated breath for the final tightrope trick.

Honestly, this, more than any of her upcoming films, is the one I'm looking forward to the most. I get the feeling from the trailer of Ghost Story that Rooney won't be in a large part of the film and Mary Magdalene feels like another one of those ethereal girlfriend parts. Una on the other hand harkens back to her more dark, intense roles of Side Effects and TGWTDT which I've missed.

I wouldn't count on Mary Magdalene being a girlfriend role because she's the title character, but I agree that Una is the project I'm most interested in seeing.
