Now it seems like the only chance that Rooney has at an Oscar for a performance this year is for Una, but even then it's not clear whether she'd get awards attention, even when her performance has been praised.

Unfortunately, Una nomination would be nothing short of a miracle. It will not happen for more reasons - small distributor, only mixed to positive reviews for the movie, no buzz etc. And Best Actress category will be more crowded than ever this year.  Mary Magdalene was her only real chance for nomination but TWC botched it (with a good reason or not, it remains to be seen).

Agree.There`s no way she`s getting nominated for Una, no one`s talking about that performance and it would be WAY too controversial given the subject matter.Even if MM had been released this year I`m not sure she would`ve been nominated given how strong the field is.Not unless her performance totally knocked it out of the park .  |

Agree.There`s no way she`s getting nominated for Una, no one`s talking about that performance and it would be WAY too controversial given the subject matter.Even if MM had been released this year I`m not sure she would`ve been nominated given how strong the field is.Not unless her performance totally knocked it out of the park . yeah, i'm not expecting Rooney to be mentioned around award season this year, she was in almost all prediction when MM's release date was in November, now she just disappeared, even her great interviews and photoshoots won't help, i don't see her pushing it and campaign all of sudden for UNA  Ehrlich is making his "best movies of.." compilation for this year and he twitted about it and had a little talk with Andrew Droz Palermo about it (read comments)  regardless, we know Roons was in one of the best movies of the year, best reviewed ones, so we have that  |
