So Great Expectations seems to be the first film Rooney dropped out of post DT? Or was there something else I don't know of. I remember she was attached to a number of things at that time.

Just going by Deadline and google, (apart from the DT sequels) she was attached to:
1. The Warren Beatty film, 'Rules Dont Apply' along with Andrew Garfield (Jun 22, 2011) (dropped out) 2. Silver Linings Playbook (Jun 23, 2011) (was considered) 3. Spike Lee's Oldboy remake (Sep 30, 2011) (dropped out) 2. Zero Dark Thirty (Nov 10, 2011) (dropped out) 4. Brooklyn (April 26, 2012) (dropped out) 5. Red Sparrow (Jun 9, 2014) (???) 6. Ziggy (Sep 12, 2014) (???) 7. Star Wars: Rogue One (Jan, 20, 2015) (Was considered?) 8. Collateral Beauty (June 9, 2015) (dropped out) 9. Utopia (Aug 8, 2015) (financing issues) 10. Annette (Nov 3, 2016) (dropped out)
I believe she had also auditioned for Gone Girl.

Great Expectations, Rules Don't Aply - meh Zero Dark Thirty - yeah, this was great opportunity but tbh I don't mind her doing Side Effects or Song to Song instead of this Brooklyn - very good but Carol was much better obviously so it's not a problem; Saoirse is perfect for the part anyway Collateral Beauty - Roon dodged a bullet here (maybe with Gomez-Rejon, Jackman and Rooney this movie had some potential to be decent; we will never know) Ziggy - Annette - :-[ Utopia -
Annette is the only on the list I'm really sorry for.
It's unavoidable for her to drop out from fine projects from time to time but sometimes stars are aligned for her - two most obvious examples are Her and Carol (sorry Carey and Mia :smile2: ).

I remember Carey talking about how a big a mistake it was that she dropped out. But she did have Inside Llewyn Davis, So that's good.

I think she was only briefly considered for the Gone Girl among some other actresses ( Is that the case with Zero Dark Thirty also ?). Maybe Fincher thought she looks young for the part or he wanted icy blonde ?

Yeah, Carey has a very good filmography - An Education, Drive, Shame, Inside Llewyn Davis, Mudbound (with The Great Gatsby, Far From the Madding Crowd and Suffragette behind). She is doing fine.
I think Mia has made a much bigger mistake.

Was the role in Zero Dark Thirty, Rooney was attached to, given to Jessica Chastain?
Yep, Maya - a CIA intelligence analyst

Honestly, I'm so glad Rooney wasn't in RULES DON'T APPLY. I was anxiously waiting for two years to see that film, I was a big Taissa Farmiga fan at the time, (she only ended up having three scenes in the film), anyway, it was horrible. So glad she dropped out. Collateral Beauty, I'm beyond glad she dropped out of, she shouldn't have that kind of garbage attached to her resume! (I haven't seen the film, but many people who aren't critics say it is indeed garbage)
Is part played by Lily Collins (for which Rooney was attached in 2011) interesting enough or lacks any substance ? Haven't seen the movie yet but she got GG nomination (not that this is indicator of some quality, I'm just asking out of curiosity).
I wasn't expecting from this movie something big anyway. Beatty seems a bit out of touch when it comes to modern filmmaking.

Gone Girl might have been where she's being considered among other actresses but I'm pretty sure she was attached to ZDT in a real way. As for casting for GG, I remember Fincher saying that one of the reasons he cast Rosamund was because she was an only child, like Amy. That was really important to him.

I would love to have seen what Red Sparrow looked like if Fincher and Rooney had made it.I`m still curious to see it though. I`d forgotten all about Ziggy.Wasn`t that going to be a musical or something?.Thank God she dropped out of Collateral Beauty, that film was a catastrophe. Yea, that was meant to be a musical. I wonder what happened there.

I do mind :lol2: . STS in not longer in the only theatre in town that had it. I guess it was not profitable with not many people going and some asking for their money back. I guess the other theatres will have the french doubled version later.
