sethan I promised you once my updated "Best of the decade" movie lists. Here they are:
Best Movies of 1940s
Best Movies of 1950s
Best Movies of 1960s
Best Movies of 1970s
Best Movies of 1980s
Best Movies of 1990s
Best Movies of 2000s
Best Movies of 2010s
Also, on my Letterboxd account - link
(1990s and 2000s aren't really finished; for 2000s movies are right but the ranking is all over the place as you can see. As for the 1990s, I really need to see more of non-English speaking cinema. Need some time more for 1930s and 1920s also).
Rankings are based on my personal preference and objectivity (or at least attempt on it - I really tried but not always with success ). As I said before - for me personally, there's really no some significant difference in quality between (for example) 32. or 11. place. Just small nuances.
It was painful to left out some other really good films but I always limit number at 32. Sort of Crème de la Crème.

Hopefully in times where everything is available people read your lists for know what they should watch. I'll do that with the list of older movies.. Magnolia should be #1 :)

Oh I'm sure many people here know about all these old films and they had seen many of them already. If anything, my list can be of help to eventual viewers to decide in which order they want to watch some of them - again or for the first time.
Thanks !

@shallowpools Rooney Mara could walk into a movie, breathe, say 3 lines, and never show up again and it'll be the best performance of the year.
@tee_apparently Gosh. Rooney Mara should have two Oscars by now.
