No more news about Fincher directing the World War Z sequel.I`m pretty sure it hasn`t been confirmed yet which means he still has time to change his mind(I hope).

I'm not feeling so gloomy about the idea of Fincher directing WWZ2, but I'm sure there would be other more suitable projects. I'll judge after seeing the film 😛🙏🤞

Ugh.Still not happy about this, I can`t help thinking a sequel to a zombie movie is beneath Fincher.I want to see him make an Oscar grade film again. :-/

that's the thing, i have no idea if it's reliable at all , it's so random, wouldn't it be a big news and reported on major sites too?

This reminds me of the time I had found and shared the news on Annette back when Rooney and Adam first became attached to it. Before it got confirmed from THR, Indiewire, etc. I remember feeling it was too specific for it to not be true, I kind of have the same feeling for this as well. I guess we'll just have to wait for a confirmation. I wonder if true, Rooney will be able to fit this into her schedule.

Oh wow. I did find a mention of Utopia on the Production Weekly site. Of course, I'm not subscribed so I can't find the details. I will say that the guy who runs AwardsWatch follows them on Twitter and I doubt he would if they weren't reliable. I won't count my chickens before they hatch but if it turns out THIS is why she can't film Annette, I won't be upset at all.
If it's true and Production Weekly is reliable, we'll be hearing more about this soon. An impending Fincher project won't go unnoticed.

Hope this is true, but I would prefer they negotiate with Netflix instead… HBO is too expensive over here.

So I've been poking around on Twitter and found people claiming that it IS true that Utopia is being remade at HBO but Fincher, Flynn, and Rooney are NOT involved. They claim everything except for the cast/crew information is accurate. Check the comments here. There are a couple of users claiming they spoke to people related to the project who told them this. HBO was probably still interested in the project but wanted to find someone else who would work with a lower budget. :-[

Oh well (zzz) It's a shame because I can imagine Fincher doing amazing things with that story and you really get what you pay for with him, but I guess they can't do the Netflix thing and throw a ton of money at projects. It's a shame Fincher didn't have the right to try to take the project to Netflix himself. I'm sure they probably would have paid what he was asking.
