Why :o ? It can't be because of style over substance or too much gore ? OGF has much more of it.
{Spoiler!} Or because of Carey ? Yeah, I think she was miscast. That role should have been played by latina actress.

I understand, I didn't like it very much after first viewing either but later it started to grow on me. Refn is the new Michael Mann of this decade (or 21. century).
For many viewers OGF represents even more example of style over substance but it works as nice allegory about sins, heaven and hell. Thai actor Vithaya Pansringarm stole the show from Ryan and I loved his karaoke songs. :

Refn is a wonderful filmmaker. No doubt about it. I'll watch anything he directs because of his unique style (which Ryan does fit perfectly). I've watched Drive multiple times, so it has it's charm for sure, I just don't think it's this masterpiece everyone says it is.
