I have always liked this woman's presence at Cannes, and have been really impressed with all of her film trailers.
Now 'Louder than Bombs' is available on Amazon and is free with prime, and I just finished watching it. I am sure I am biased, but I thought Isabelle's performance was worth the watch if for no other reason. Effortlessly, creates perfect emotion, not that much different than what I see in Rooney's work, but seemingly without really trying. But then again Isabelle has had a 32 year head start.
l am still processing the movie, not sure I really understand the end.
Would appreciate any one else's opinion. May have more tomorrow.

Isabelle is very talented, I suggest you watch Things to Come if you haven't already, it's on Netflix (US). I wanted to see 'Things to Come' more than Elle! Thanks! Charles,

I've seen it, and I loved it. It's not perfect but who cares if there's a lot heart in it. Beautiful performances by everyone. It was also very interesting to see Jesse play a married man with a child. That's a side to him I wanted to see and adored.

It's one of the best I've ever seen about sensitivity and masculinity in a way... I recommend Joachim Trier previous films as well. They're very depressing but his technique is stunning... That long shot in Isabelle face in a Bergman style is...love

The simplicity and the naturalness reminded me of her work.

OK, watched 'Things to Come'early this morning (Thanks for the hint HSFF).
For me the best part was Isabelle, and in general I was a little disappointed in the script, probably had overly high expectations. But like Rooney's work I think I would enjoy Isabelle in just about anything. Like the finest french wine she has aged majestically!
Over night I think I have figured out the 'Bombs' movie and I am liking it more and more.

Yeah, Trier is more cold I guess is the nordic thing.

Charles I adore Mia Hansen-Love´s body of work and I think Things to Come is a masterpiece but maybe I´m alone in that and I understand why.

Would it be okay if this board was moved to actors/actresses/filmmakers? That way we can continue chatting about Isabelle and her career, over there? : Charles sethan mortimer605 RedSparrow Admin Makes sense to me. When I started this wasn't sure of the right place to put it. Charles
