The Current War trailer. So, what is this ? Some tale about saintly, visionary Edison (a family man with cuter-than-cute children) against villainous combo Westinghouse & Tesla ? Edison was the real asshole but for mainstream Hoollywood he is obviously a hero. Yawn.
Michael Shannon looks good though. Hope he gets some award recognition for this.

I actually didn`t hate that trailer.It reminded me, as crazy as it sounds,of The Social Network.Now I`m intrigued.
Trailer looks good but I'm getting some small "All-American hero defeats his shadowy opponents to reach his dream and for the good of all mankind" vibe from it. This fascinating story deserves more complex treatment than that.
I really hope I'm wrong on this . Let's see. Maybe it's really better movie and more deserving of awards attention than Mary Magdalene.

it's easier to sell than a biblical story (about a woman in all that), that's for sure, especially to AMPAS, btw, were there any women in this trailer/movie, with any significance i mean? one big pissing contest again, what's in it, eating of a raw liver? :explode: i'm still on the fence about it, in one hand i want it to fail, because Harvey doesn't deserve any better, but on the other hand - if it fail, MM's situation would be even worse, completely no money, and he will dump it without any effort at all...

I don't want this movie to fail (maybe it's better than MM after all). I'll be only disappointed if the story isn't complex enough and characters are portrayed in "black and white" fashion. Trailer didn't convince me yet. But let's wait for the reactions.
This story is actually one of the most fascinating this season and I'm looking forward to it. Too bad that TWC had to abandon MM to promote only one movie.

Tuppence Middleton is in it.I read a review of this by someone who watched an early screening(back in June)and they said that she was excellent in it.Shannon and Cumberbatch too.

What about Katherine Waterston ? Is her performance memorable enough or she has just small part ?

Katherine Waterston plays Michael Shannon`s wife and is, according to this review, fantastic in her scenes with him and was integral in his decision making. process.

haha, i see you're not a fan of Jennifer, me too... {Spoiler!}
During Carol's awards season in 2015/2016 one fan of Jennifer from her IMDb said something like: " I don't care for Rooney Mara at all !" :lol2: (exactly your words about JLaw from two days ago lol).
I'm certainly not a fan but I'm not a hater either. Liked her in Winter's Bone, in my opinion that was her only performance deserving of Oscar nomination (and maybe win). But after that....The Jennifer Lawrence story (directed by David O. Russell). She literally played the same (miscast) character in every movie. And for some reason Academy voters loved that Never got her appeal (on-screen and off-screen).
But if she is really good (and different for a change) in Mother! it won't be problem for me at all.
American Hustle. See, this part would be ideal for some actress in her 30s but DOR casted 22 years old Jenn. She literally annoyed the hell out of me in this movie (and almost got her 2nd Oscar for it). After Joy it's obvious that they have intention to nominate her for everything.
