So the first reviews for Mother! are in.Hollywood Reporter and Screen Daily were impressed by it and Jennifer Lawrence in particular.Variety review was fairly negative.One things for sure,this film is going to divide opinion.
Jennifer will get another Oscar nomination, you can bet on it
Ordinarily I`d agree with you but the Best Actress line up is looking REALLY strong this year and I`m not certain she`s going to get nominated.

haha, i see you're not a fan of Jennifer, me too... {Spoiler}{Spoiler!}
During Carol's awards season in 2015/2016 one fan of Jennifer from her IMDb said something like: " I don't care for Rooney Mara at all !" :lol2: (exactly your words about JLaw from two days ago lol).
I'm certainly not a fan but I'm not a hater either. Liked her in Winter's Bone, in my opinion that was her only performance deserving of Oscar nomination (and maybe win). But after that....The Jennifer Lawrence story (directed by David O. Russell). She literally played the same (miscast) character in every movie. And for some reason Academy voters loved that Never got her appeal (on-screen and off-screen).
But if she is really good (and different for a change) in Mother! it won't be problem for me at all.
American Hustle. See, this part would be ideal for some actress in her 30s but DOR casted 22 years old Jenn. She literally annoyed the hell out of me in this movie (and almost got her 2nd Oscar for it). After Joy it's obvious that they have intention to nominate her for everything.
{Spoiler} i really don't care about her meaning that if she retired tomorrow i won't be missing her on my screen one bit, i'm not a hater either, hate it's too high-voltage emotion it this case, she just irritates me sometimes, like every quirky and cheerful "girl next door" type, it just doesn't do it for me agree with you about her roles, mostly - too much hype over not so good work, not worth this much praise she's getting

Rooting for Sally. yeah, you're right the same time two places, i'm mixing them up from the very begining, i have a feeling that in Venice were more "important", or bigger premieres than in Telluride, maybe it's because it just lasts longer?

So First Man is set to open the Venice Film Festival this year.Interesting, given that La La Land opened it a couple of years ago and went on to be a big awards player and this does look like it will be right up the Academy`s street.
