If Clooney had gotten cast, 'Rooney Clooney' would've become a thing. I'm grateful that that didn't happen
Did you post a pic? I'm unable to see it :-S

Really? I remember Max Von Sydow was attached to the film, But I'm not able to recollect Viggo being involved. He would've been really good though.
According to Wiki Craig "competed with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Viggo Mortensen, and Johnny Depp as candidates for the role." IMDb trivia confirms this. Craig originally turned down the role due to possible conflicts with Skyfall . After production of the film was suspended his schedule freed up and he retook the role.
Clooney and Pitt are so wrong for the part. Depp is more chameleonic but I can't imagine him in this role at all. Yeah, Craig or Mortensen were the best two choices.
I would have preferred any of the actors considered, specially Viggo is any actor more artistic than him ?. Wow Max Von Sydow, and Fincher picked captain von Trapp instead.

Plummer is excellent actor; it's just that Sydow - as legendary, iconic, old Swedish actor - was such obvious and perfect choice to play Vanger. I read somewhere that he wasn't interested in the part at all. He lives in France for a long time and if I'm not wrong, he wasn't even familiar with Stieg Larsson's novels.
{Spoiler!} renoh - why you don't like actors from your country ? Jim Carrey, Gosling and now Plummer ? Coincidence ? Or maybe not ? ;)

I respect your opinion but I can't agree with you on Carrey He is very underrated as "serious" actor.

Nah, I still can't see it but I think I know which one you're talking about. Is Jonah in it? I think that's the only pic I've seen of Rooney and Clooney

God, Fede Alvarez should take note of this list. To me it feels so sacrilegious to even suggest that anyone other than Rooney could be Lisbeth. 🤢

These plebs clearly don't understand a thing about Lisbeth, because Rooney was pretty much born to play this character.

This is another one of Rooney's movies, I've yet to see. I'm going to watch it later today, I've mainly been avoiding it because of the content in the film, is it really graphic? I know, I'm a bad Rooney stan. :cry2:
It can't be... :o

It has to be horrible to be carthartic at the end. Don't worry, you'll be okay, eventually. For me, I it was certainly the reason that got me hooked.
