Maybe it's better to move this discussion on Film/TV thread ? This is thread about TGWTDT and this new, unnecessary project is not related to Rooney in any way, thus not relevant to her movie career.
Thanks :)

I forgot, who wrote the script for this one? I remember Andrew Kevin Walker did the re-write for The Girl who Played with Fire. What a waste.

Maybe they are, but i really doubt it. Honestly, it feels like Sony throwed this out couple of hours after the original news, cause they saw the negative reactions and wanted to change the subject somewhat and grab the headlines. It just really funny to announce the "global search" for Lisbeth and then go to this actresses. Also, pretty much free publicity.

Exactly, They're feeling the heat, and I'm pretty sure they feel cornered. People don't care and don't see the point in the 4th book adaptation, and now with the casting news, the hate is stronger, which only makes Sony look like they're in a desperate kind of situation. Thank god Rooney's not attached to this crap.

I hope Fincher and Rooney have a film project soon together. Any kind of. Produced for Plan B or something like that. It will be a really nice sign/ declaration of independence for their fans.

Shame Utopia went no where. Those two make a great team. But Rooney's plate is so full this year, and Fincher seems to be stuck in perpetual creative limbo since Gone Girl. I hope the rumours of him doing the World War Z sequel aren't true. A sequel to a mediocre zombie film is so beneath him. I also heard the Played with Fire was delayed because Craig demanded too much money. Talk about having a stick up your arse, especially with all the money he's getting from Bond.

Fede spoke ( it´s just media bullshit in my opinion) Would Rooney even agree if she was asked to? Considering how much Fincher championed and mentored her during the making of that film, I don't think she would feel that secure returning to the role without him.

This is a bit odd, but Someone on AW posted that Fincher's going to remain as an executive producer on this one. I don't entirely believe this. But has anyone here heard something similar?
