There's no way in hell Joaquin loses, but I would like to see at least one surprise in the acting categories tonight.Preferably in Best Supporting actress.I'd love to see Scarlett beat Laura.I'm guessing Parasite wins BP and Sam Mendes gets Director.

That would be great. Scarlett really did a better job. She should win in lead, honestly

Parasite won BIG tonight. And totally deserved !
Is it only me or Joaquin and Rooney were not even present there until the last 30 minutes ? That's so like them Anyway, Joaquin's speech was great; maybe the best thing of the night, aside for Parasite winning Best Picture.
And Hildur won Fck yeah!
God...what a snoozefest. They need to refresh this thing for the next few years.

Psyched that Joaquin won, that was certainly an intense speech.Thrilled for Hildur too,the Joker score is incredible. And yeah,I totally agree, that was the dullest Oscars I can remember, there were way too many songs and pointless montages and they need to bring back a host.

Joaquin's speech was the highlight for me. He articulated his thoughts so well under the circumstances.

Only year ago (or better - six months ago) I had doubt that Joaquin - as much as great actor he is - will ever get the Oscar. For many different reasons - most notably his well known antipathy towards "Hollywood game" and the fact that his movies - regardless of their quality - don't make much money at the box office (which is, we all know this, the major thing to draw Academy's attention). But now, I actually think he will get another one in the future. Not soon, of course but in a proper time.
In the meantime, Rooney needs to get her own golden boy. Let's hope that Nightmare Alley is a good start to this goal.

I think there was a topic about second chances this year and it was nice. In my book Brad Pitt deserves an Oscar for his work in Plan B <3 The level of the movies except for Jojo was great so the Academy gave itself another chance as well. I think Rooney would be nominated for The Silent Patient easily but win....
