I'm from India. I'm still baffled at the national anthem thing. It's a new rule, one I can't believe exists. We as a country weren't so stupid before. This is a new low. Wow India! I'm obsessed with your culture since the mid 90's :) , here if we would have that rule, I'm sure the movie wouldn't be projected because nobody knows O Canada by heart.  Trust me this place gets old very quickly. But you should still visit sometime. Preferably Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Agra, or Kerala. I would suggest Jammu too, but with our troubles with Kashmir and Pakistan it's not all that safe anymore. |

It was advertised as explicit sexual content back in those days, I saw it in the theatre and didn't think it was that explicit, this days it looks as a Disney movie. People lose their shit when two people kiss on screen. I sometimes can't believe the place I live in, it's ridiculous. These people think the people of our country won't be able to take it as it's somehow against our "culture", "tradition" or whatever like we're all a bunch of two year olds. I mean for crying out loud I can't go to the theatre anymore because if you don't stand up to sing the national anthem before the film starts playing you get thrown out for not being "patriotic". It's sounds silly but sometimes it does feel like dictatorship is slowly taking over. Hopefully my generation of people will make sure that doesn't happen. I mean why should watching a film be such a messy problem. It wasn't this bad before. They didn't cut out scenes before like the way they do now. Actually they don't cut scenes out, they zoom in on the edge of the screen so that nobody sees the scene (It's funny how the sound keeps running though). That's so much more embarrassing sitting in the audience. I can't believe I watched Gone Girl like that. Never going back. Better off watching stuff at home.
But to be honest, I would sing not one but five national anthems if someone promises me as compensation that the movie theater will be free from annoying, noisy little kids :lol2: Nothing worse than that. :anger2:
