Guys, I've updated the Film Festival thread with Song to Song premieres at SXSW and Luxembourg City FF. So excited for the red carpet . I'm a little nervous about the reviews, hopefully they're not horrifying

Eh, even when Malick makes a film that's completely an over-indulgent pretentious train-wreck, there's still nothing else quite like it. The Tree of Life was the last modern Malick film I saw, so it's been a while. I'll end up watching this regardless of the reviews, mainly to just see this cast and for Ryan and Rooney's chemistry.

I honestly feel he should go back to making films the way he did before The Tree of Life. They felt a lot more simple and subtle than the ones that came after TOL. I think Radegund is going to be similar to the older ones.

Did you heard or know something about possible test-screenings for critics ? Is that usual for Malick's films or not ?
I'm just cautious; don't want any negative surprise before premiere.

I haven't heard anything. But honestly with just two more weeks to go, I doubt they will have any test screenings now. Have Malick films ever test screened before though? He doesn't strike me as someone who would want to do that

I really don't know but - very probably not. Terry's final vision certainly doesn't want to be spoiled by reactions of some nerdy film critics and/or arrogant, conceited journalists He wouldn't care about their opinion anyway.
But better to be careful. I really don't want to be unprepared for (possible) bunch of negative reactions/tweets suddenly, a week before premiere. I'll tell you if I find out something, of course.
Two weeks until Song to Song. Magnitude of our anticipation/nervousness after so much time is quite enormous

I feel like I've aged tremendously in Malick years :preach: We have waited so long that March 10 and 17 should be important days in the Roons calendar. We should make 17th a holiday
