This years festival is dedicated to past Cannes Festivals, and it's history in general. This link is a mostly pictorial celebration of the 50th anniversary of Cannes 20. Blow Up got the Palme d'Or that year, and the 50 year old pictures in the 1st link are quite entertaining. Charles

No change to the official selection so far, maybe the change will show up when they announce the schedule. My guess is that they will still be shown just not 'In Competition'.

I had no idea Meryl won BA here. I wonder if she's won the Trifecta. Rooney hopefully does

Every country should treasure theatrical experience. It's something completely natural and without a doubt best way to watch movies but unfortunately, I'm seeing this becoming unusual or weird by many in the future.

Well Cannes is Cannes, they honour the classic theatrical experience it doesn't surprise me if they don't consider Netflix movies. Funny, all french people I know don't go to the theatre much, it is just one go those stigmas people have about the french.

Anyone could tag me when know when is this premiere. Thanks sethan we are still waiting for the schedule to be released. Once released I will post a link to it on the original post at the start of this thread and a new post indicating that it is out. Since I am about 7 hours behind French time, I may not be the 1st to know, but it will be posted. Charles

The line up should be pretty telling. The film that premieres on the first Saturday is usually the one with the most promise.
