You can open threads on this board and share your thoughts and on various artists, their work and more. It would be incredible if you could introduce us to some new ones to watch out for. You can create lists, polls, etc. Have fun. Cheers!

I agree with the choices just not the order. Bong and Park Chan Wook should be MUCH higher. For actors, the top three are pretty much perfect, but from there on the order is completely whack. Mads, Leo and Christoph should be much lower, whereas Shanon, Hardy, Bale and Norton should be much higher. Looking forward to actresses-hopefully Rooney is on there although she probably won't be very high since she isn't that prolific.

Now that I stop and think about it, Spike Jonze should definitely be on the list. Dude hasn't made a bad film and Her just elevated him on a whole other level. Lynne Ramsay should be on the list as well.

Mortimer why don't you create separate threads for lists of best/favorite filmmakers, actors, etc. It'll be fun to hear different opinions :) and then we can debate and fight about it JK.

Ehh...it would be great fun but I think we are above that; we certainly don't want circus :lol2: here and some "wars" between the fans. We've seen enough of that on IMDb boards already.
ToC lists are entertaining enough in my opinon (with the exception during Award season in January-February; my advice is to stay away from ToC in that period; absolutely unbearable)
{Spoiler!} I would really love to see your article on ToC in the future. It isn't hard believe me, it's great fun actually. Just take your time. :)

I'm talking about his resume in terms of feature films he's directed and if you look at it there isn't a single bad one.

Oh, sorry, you are right, I remember I got suggestions videos when I was watching clips on youtube of his work, his participation in Jackass is sad, I felt bad for him, he doesn't need to do that.

Lol, why? He probably did it for fun. Spike is a great artist but he also doesn't take himself seriously. He's always had a juvenile sense of humour and there are FAR WORSE things to be in than Jackass.

1 and 2 are Gods, the rest are good directors. Alejandro G is overrated even when 21 Grams is one of my favorites films ever. Missing Pablo Larrain. Where's Kelly R, Mia Hansen Love, Lucrecia Martel, Sofia C or any woman?

But LOVED Blue Valantine. It's a wonderful film, a very haunting and scary one too. The performances is what keeps it together ultimately. What I loved about it was how people can become a totally different person after a point in their life. Ryan's character was so charming at the beginning that I felt betrayed by him by the end, so much so that I got turned off from him outside of movies as well for a while. It just goes to show how effective it was.
