Film Festival Thread – Member Comments Requested

It has been requested that we look at the organization of this thread with an eye for making it easy to use and then be able to find the stuff we want several years (or days) from now.


1. The Film Festival Thread is a thread that does not require that Rooney is the focus of the discussion. For example, the 2017 Cannes Festival unfortunately will not include any of Rooney’s work. But the festival itself will be of great interest to many of us anyway, because it is a great celebration of film.


Using the 2017 Cannes FF thread as a model please comment on the ideas below by replying to this thread:


2. What Film Festivals should we develop a complete thread?

   Any of Rooney’s films

   Key festivals like Cannes, Toronto, New York, and London regardless of Rooney’s appearance

   Any other festival a Member wants to add.



3. Standardizing Festival Thread Titles:


   We are trying to make it easy to find stuff:
   Recommendation: Year, Festival Name, if Rooney’s film is in the festival, then the film name in parenthesis

   Recommended Example: 2017 Toronto Film Festival (Mary Magdalene)

      The above is an assumption (MM at TIFF) for illustration purposes and will be mostly for my use, but I wanted to get ideas from others, and who knows maybe         other members may want to start a festival post as well and we all will be using this to find stuff.



4. Any Other Comments, Recommendations, or Ideas are welcome and important!
