This team is so lovely. So happy as fan with the fact that Rooney works (almost always) with great teams as professionals and as people . if "almost always" is about Casey, then fine, if not votum separandum from me here. i can not let go of my resentment toward Casey after what he did, i want to firmly point out that's not ok, sexual harassment is a big deal, it shouldn't be overlooked and ignored. he might be great as an actor but as a man? i wish we could separate the art from the man who creates it and don't downplay the issue - sexual violence is a sexual violence. i just can't get over it, no matter how great his permormance is. just my opinion ofc.

Well, my opinion is in another thread of this site and it would be another off topic here so just I´ll say I believe strongly in the separation of art and life, So many genius in differents arts and sciences are not good people and their contributions are essentials...

I wonder how the film is going to be received in lieu of Casey's history of sexual harassment being brought back into the spotlight after his Oscar win. Allegations like these: are going to make watching the film incredibly uncomfortable when this is one of the promotional images: In fact the whole premise is going to be uncomfortable if you've read what Casey's been accused of.

A Ghost Story will be fine. Casey will be fine. Have an Oscar winner is a plus always. Woody Allen is a repulsive human being and still does movies every five minutes with the best actors of the planet. Does anyone respectable think that Cate with C should reject the role of Blue Jasmine because of that? No.

Nenya, HSFF and I have been discussing about Casey's allegations a little over here in the General film talk/discussion thread (Probably not the best place to discuss it. But I hope admin can make an exception this time). If you want you can contribute and let us know what your thoughts are over there. Would appreciate it. Edit: I've moved all Casey related posts from General Discussion to the OT board over here.

It's a small movie so they should take their time with wide. If the early response is great they could slowly go wide till Sep/Oct/Nov for awards season. I'm very curious at what A24's aiming at

It's a sort of arthouse isn't? so my second reaction was "they already have unbelievable reviews which is a dreamy scenario for a film like this. Don't tell anyone but I want a Indie Spirit for Rooney for Ghost (UNA doesn't apply right?) . I saw a bit a disappointment in Rooney's eyes when she didn't get it for Carol. Maybe it's just me but I think that despite Cannes that is the only awards that Rooney wants and respects

I said it because I thought UNA is like an international movie. It's British isn't? I don't know the rules... I would take it happily for UNA as well :)

I don't know about winning, but if A24 handles it well, a nom is very likely. I think it was Indiewire who made a list of best performances from Sundance, Rooney's on it with a good amount of votes but in supporting. It all depends on where she's campaigned and who the competition will be.

I would take it happily for UNA as well :) It's an American-British-Canadian co-production. I'd love for her to win for Una as well, seems it's a very powerful performances. Do you think she could even be nominated for a Golden Globe or Critics Choice for it? :) Also, sorry if my last post seemed or sounded rude, didn't mean for it to be. :D I think she only has an option with Indie Spirit for Ghost or UNA. For the rest of awards she has one with Mary Magdalene cause Harvey will do his job well enough to get some nominations. But it's not big due to the theme of the movie. I mean it's a religious film after all Maybe another AACTA

I honestly thought this would get a Oct/Nov release. But whatever, I`m just happy we are going to see it sooner rather than later. It's limited though. Most of us will probably end up seeing it at a much later date.
