Saw Marriage Story. Floored me. I hope Noah finally receives the recognition he deserves from the academy. Holy shit. I found it perfect and I had high expectations. So human and sensitive. But at the same time silly and painful... Just like life. Too good for best picture wins. Adam is great, deserves any award. Joaquin too.

So I finally got myself to watch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, utterly underwhelming and self-indulgent. Apart from the final act and Brad Pitt's performance I didn't find anything of interest here. A complete waste of time.

Marriage Story.Loved it.Incredible performance by Adam Driver, when he sang Being Alive, wow. But the real MVP,for me,was Scarlett. This is her best ever performance, she was genuinely great and I would love to see her win the Oscar for this.9/10.

I finished my Star Wars marathon - A New Hope has some issues but on the whole is great, and the impact it made pretty much speaks for itself. - Empire Strikes Back is still my favourite film in the series, with every Star Wars movie I usually have some noticeable problem with it, but off the top of my head I can't really think of one with this movie. - Return of the Jedi has some issues, it just didn't really interest me generally. However the stuff involving Luke, Darth Vader and The Emperor was pretty much perfect, so I consider this a pretty good movie. - I was surprised at how much I still liked The Force Awakens, yes its derivative of the original Star Wars, but its the best an Episode 7 could've possibly been. - The Last Jedi is my 2nd fave in the series. There are some issues I had, stuff like the Rose and Finn storyline. But at the same time there's so many incredible things in the movie that completely overshadows it.
Since it'll be a while before I review them, here are some 2019 releases I saw. - Arctic was a really simple yet solid thriller and what made most of it works so well was Mads Mikkelsen, who gave one of his best performances. - For all the good recent Stephen King adaptations, Pet Sematary was rather conventional and average. It shows signs of good ideas and has a good cast involved, but ultimately the movie is simplified to the bare bones and ends up just a typical horror movie. - Frozen 2 in comparison to the first movie is better in some ways and worse in others. The story took a weird direction, and that sort of made it interesting to watch (even if it should've been used for a different movie really), and its animated beautifully. The songs are fine but rather forgettable.
Other - I saw The Princess of the Frog, very much like the classic animated Disney movies (for better and for worse), I liked it quite a bit. - Blood Simple already showed signs of the Coen Brothers' later stories, rather impressive debut. - I finally got to see why Sunset Boulevard is considered a classic. - Finally caught up on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which was the only David Fincher film I hadn't seen yet. While I don't consider this one of his best movies, it's really great.

Been a while since I’ve posted here.
Watched The Green Mile, one of the best Stephen King adaptations for sure.
Gemini Man was okay I guess but for a film but Ang Lee you’d expect much more. It’s a standard action flick that doesn’t live up to the potential of the cast, director or premise.
The Two Popes was better than I was expecting, written, acted and directed well, though in parts I wasn’t as interested, and some of the handheld camerawork was annoying.
Dumbo 2019 was fine, Tim Burton surprisingly was restrained and his direction isn’t over the top weird (only Michael Keaton really acted like he was in a Tim Burton Movie). It got better as it went along but it has some problems, especially the writing. However it’s directed well and Eva Green and Danny Devito are good.
I rewatched the National Treasure movies, they aren’t anything special but they are some solid fun.
On a rewatch of The Irishman, I loved it even more, and it might be my new favourite Martin Scorsese film.
Saw The Prestige for the second time and I loved it even more that time.

Just watched The Two Popes. It’s a correct, very well acted TV MOVIE. I can’t believe it was in Telluride!!! and Fernando Meirelles in directors roundtables for that!! Come on. His choices are so basics... And I found the photography awful.

Ugh. I really dislike Jojo Rabbit. I found it manipulative, repetitive, forced ... with some good moments and that's it. I liked the work of Scarlett tho and Thomasin is the future. I get its point but I think you can tell the same story with much more nobility and less false display of funny "creativity"

Like I guess it's somewhat entertaining and I liked the cast, and I liked some scenes, but that's it.

Ford vs Ferrari.I liked this way more than I was expecting to,I'm not into racing or cars at all, but the racing scenes were so incredible it was hard not to be drawn in.It's also beautifully directed by Mangold and Matt Damon and Christian Bale are both fantastic in it.9/10/

Terminator:Dark Fate.Time to put these movies to bed now. This was so mediocre.5/10.
The Lighthouse.I'm a huge fan of The Witch and I wanted to love this more than I did.The cinematography was breathtaking and Dafoe and Pattinson were both great, but I found this pretty hard going.I still think Robert Eggers is a major talent though, and I'll watch whatever he does in the future.7/10.
