I watched Deadpool 2 The Super Duper Cut and while it's at about the same level as the theatrical cut, it was nice seeing the additional scenes in the movie. I liked the movie a lot more the second time round, filled with great comedy and entertainment and surprisingly effective drama. It's biggest issue is the first half which is rather slow.
I also rewatched Skyfall, its tied with Casino Royale as the best James Bond film. Everything with this film is fantastic and I strongly believe that this is the best directed James Bond film. I hope Bond 25 is at the level of quality of Skyfall and Casino Royale at the very least.
My top 5 Bond movies:
01. From Russia with Love (1963) 02. Goldfinger (1964) 03. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) 04. Casino Royale (2006) 05. The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
HM - Skyfall (2012)
Worst - Die Another Day (2002) Ugh...terrible. :no2:

I absolutely loved Deadpool 2 so I`m going to have to check out The Super Duper cut.Skyfall is hands down my favourite Bond film but I'm worried about Bond 25, the turmoil surrounding the production makes me think we might not be seeing it for a while. The script that leaked, about a year ago, was mediocre at best.Apparently Danny Boyle left because he objected to killing off Bond. I thought that Boyle brought on another writer and redid their own script for the movie (from what I remember hearing). I didn't hear about the killing of Bond as being why Boyle left, I remember seeing that it was over the casting of the villain, Danny Boyle wanted to cast this one actor, Daniel Craig didn't want to, and then they went their separate ways.

While I like the Bond films, I'm not like a massive fan of them. I think I just find most of them dated, which is why I like Craig's Casino Royale and Skyfall to be the best as imo they really started treating Bond like a character and not an archetype.
As forDie Another Day, it is probably one of the worst in the series (I haven't seen it in a while) but I have a feeling that it's at least kind of entertaingly bad. I feel like Never Say Never Again (an unofficial Sean Connery Bond film) might be the worst if I ever watch it.
I also need to get around to watching Goldeneye and From Russia With Love as those are the only Bond films I haven't seen yet.

I rewatched Spectre recently, better than Quantum of solace but still has a bunch of issues and idk how that happened. A lot of it lacks the energy that even QOS had. The one thing that Spectre does better is that the editing is good enough that you can see what’s happening, even if they are underwhelming.
I also saw Mulholland Drive for the first time, I have no idea what happened with the last 30 minutes but I think it might be something masterful. I haven’t seen many David Lynch films but I think this might be his best.

Finally got around to watching Ocean's Eight and I really enjoyed it.It's not a dazzling heist movie by any stretch but the cast is so appealing I can forgive that.Sandra Bullock and Cate B are good but Anne Hathaway and James Corden, of all people, steal the show.

I rewatched the original Halloween the other day in prep for the new one coming next month and it still works as a horror classic. It's simplicity and low budget actually makes this movie work so well. Some aspects aren't great like a lot of the supporting actors and characters have some bad dialogue and acting but most of it really works.
Halloween 2018 looks like it could end up being at the same level as the original.

Yeah it was pretty bad but it was so unbelievably terrible and over the top that I actually kind of enjoyed watching it as a disaster of a movie.

Watched the new Jeremy Saulnier film,Hold The Dark (Netflix),over the weekend and it is definitely worth checking out. It's a revenge thriller and very, very violent,it reminded me a lot of Wind River actually.I feel like Saulnier is ready to step up to the big leagues after this.8/10.

I finally watched Truffaut's 'The 400 Blows' for the first time today. Love the way the metaphors were presented, but I'm still processing it.

I've never been the biggest French New Wave fan but that was one I really liked. It just felt so alive and had a real sense of place. One of those movies that really reaches across cultural barriers.

I watched Venom this weekend, my review is on the review thread but long story short it was messy and not very good but it was very entertaining and Tom Hardy was really good and held it together.
I saw The Others with Nicole Kidman, didn't scare me but it was pretty good, Kidman was great and it had a good twist.
Event Horizon doesn't live up to its premise but the performances and the practical effects and the sets were nonetheless great, making it a decent watch (by far Paul WS Anderson's best film). I can clearly see where the Dead Space game developers got their inspiration from.

Went to see A Star Is Born last night.Really loved it.Cooper was great, maybe the best he's ever been and he seems like a natural director too.Gaga was even better imo and this is coming from someone who usually can't stand her.I was worried she wouldn't be able to shake her star persona but she really does. She's excellent and gives this film real heart.I don't know if she'll win but she's definitely getting nominated,Cooper too.
