I saw Rocketman. It's a bit formulaic but it worked for me. It was fun and celebrates Elton John as an artist understanding his complexity which is the point. Soulful performance of Egerton. Loses strength towards the end but it's way better than Bohemian
It's kind of shame that neither Walk the Line (2005) nor Control (2007) weren't nominated for Best Picture at the time. They are much better music biopics than Bohemian Rhapsody, and with better performances. Not to mention I'm Not There (2007).

YES. I love Walk the Line. It has a lot of heart. I haven’t seen Control. I will. I adore I’m Not There.

I rewatched the first two Men in Black movies. First is a tad dated but a lot of fun and Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones played off each other well. Second is not nearly as good but was okay, didn't feel as fresh as the first movie. I don't know yet if I'll watch Men in Black International.

I saw Control! It's so good. Totally my thing :) Thanks. I don’t know why it took me so long to see it. You will not see a biopic that respects the essence of its artist more. It’s a masterpiece compared to Bohemian and Rocketman. I still can’t believe that Bohemian won awards .... The only nomination that Rocketman deserves is the performance of Egerton (and depends on the other alternatives). I'm not a fan of the versions they made of the songs. It has a Baz Lurhmann-ish thing

Never tired of listening to this. Almost 40 years old and still fresh as always.

Murder Mystery(Netflix). This was mild entertaining and probably the best thing Adam Sandler has done in a long time, which is not saying much I know. The best thing about it is Jennifer Aniston who is giving a real performance rather than phoning it in like she usually does.5/10.

Before my exams I watched quite a few classic movies. The Killing is lower tier Kubrick but still decent, Dial M for Murder is one of my fave Hitchcock movies now, Manhunter is not one of my favourite Hannibal adaptations and I generally prefer what they did in Red Dragon with regards to the story but it was still good, and I also finally got around to watch Night of the Hunter. I also watched Silence of the Lambs for like the 3rd/4th time last night.

Greta.I'm a huge fan of Isabelle Huppert but she was awful in this. The film itself was batshit, like a Lifetime on steroids.3/10.

These past weeks I watched quite a lot of movies, for the non 2019 ones: - Rewatched Apocalypse Now and I love it now, I didn't really know how to feel about it when I saw it years ago but now I know why it's a classic. - Days of Heaven was fine, I feel like the other movies I've seen from Malick were better, even Badlands (with the exception of Knight of Cups, though I need to watch that again) - I liked the Solaris remake, though didn't watch the original. Even though it's like one hour and 40 minutes though it felt rather drawn out and I wasn't entirely invested in it. - Rewatched The Expendables 2 and it's at the perfect level of 80s dumb fun, shame that 3 completely missed the mark right after they nailed it. - Saw Van Helsing for the first time, there are some entertaining action, and the cast seem to be having fun, but on the whole it felt really long, it's over 2 hours long. - Rewatched The Conjuring, I still like it but the sequel is better. - Jackie Brown still isn't one of Tarantino's best movies but a rewatch of it made me like and appreciate it a lot more. - I already liked The Hateful Eight but rewatching it made it one of my fave Tarantino movies, it's up there with Inglourious Basterds and I can't figure out which I like more. I also saw the extended cut version for the rewatch.
