the sad thing is, Rooney will be asked about that frequently from now on. every interview. i bet her publicist is under heavy fire already, for Rooney's comment on that matter :| If asked I bet she will have a very good response. It's the questions you don't anticipate that give people problems. Agree with Ms Sparrow I am really glad she is no longer associated with this mess. Charles Yes, she dealt pretty well with a provocative question last year, she gave a smart answer during the Oscars nominees luncheon. :)

Rooney only made $200k? :anger1: :anger2: Are you kidding?! She's the lead of the movie, a STUDIO movie, and she only got $200k? She deserved more Yes, that was really unfair, Sonny should have add at list one 0 to that pay check. Normally the actors who get paid the millions are between so so and ok. I remember an actor saying in an interview when asked what factors are important for him to accept been on a movie (something like that, I don't remember the words used), and he said the money. Rooney is different and that's why she has such as good résumé and projects true to her. Of course, I also wish she gets paid equally as her male co stars. ;)

The ending to this film was already incredibly melancholic due to Rooney's amazing perfomance and Reznor/Ross' haunting score, but knowing they'll never make a sequel is even more painful to watch it now:

It was quite easily one of best aspects of it. Just going by a few thoughts on it, I feel the frustration was more about Lisbeth and Mikael not ending up together than the story as a whole. If anything I'm glad they felt a lot for the characters. This is not the first time people had a problem with the ending of a Fincher film. The Game is probably the best example for it. I guess I can understand it, that film isn't for everyone. But there are people who didn't like the ending of Zodiac or who thought the film itself was pointless and was about nothing. Talk about not getting the movie at all. I have to keep reminding myself that we live in a society where people prefer to be spoon-fed than use their heads and just think for a second.

Audiences today want explanations and answers wrapped up in little bows and given to them on a platter. None of the movies that are considered the “greatest” ever served their answers easily. They caused you to think outside the box – to create your own explanation; they beg for questions to be asked afterwards. Sadly, simple crowd-pleasers will always make more money on the box-office than something more challenging and demanding. It was always like that but today especially. People in general hate movies they don't understand and automatically, it's a "bad" movie for them.
Almost every great film had "this movie is so slow and boring, overrated " thread on their IMDb page :lol2:

Because just going by the Youtube comments a lot of people feel the same way. In fact, one of the first things people leave comments on about this film is how sad the ending is.

But yea, when the film came out back in 2011, I distinctly remember people having issues with it. I don't get it Hopefully they've changed their mind.
