A number of the usual directors, but all in all this could be a strong showing for Cannes, with names like Mallick, Loach, Almodovar, Jarmusch, and Tarantino plus the usuals, presenting work in completion.

Apparently this was a last minute ad in, as it wasn’t finished until recently.
So glad it made it.
The Cannes website seems to be featureless so far, but they have a week or so to get it finished.

Just saw that ‘Rocket Man’, The story of Elton John will also be premiering at Cannes this year. Not sure what category, possibly competition, E John loved the movie thought that it was himself on the screen.

A revised Link to the Screenings Schedule PDFIt will show up in iPad 'Books' or a simple PDF download for PC. It is too long to copy into a post. I will also post this to the original post so it will be easier to find. Charles

Cannes 2019 starts tonight with the opening ceremony, so the press has been active with recommendations. Here are a few: Guardian - Peter Bradshaw 10 Films Large number of women on his list 4 of 9 by my count. Reminds us that Isabelle Huppert appears in Frankie BBC - Paul Glynn 9 Films Likes 'The Dead Don't Die' best, but includes 'Rocketman' and 'Diego Maradona Film Stage - Jordan Raup 20 films Much more variety here with Mallicks 'A Hidden Life' at #1

Malick is having incredible reviews. A bit sad that Song to Song has not had better distribution. Song to Song is also very good, people
