The vibe between the cast is very nice and genuine. Maybe it’s me now but the Awards thing is so overrated. Better a great, bold film without awards that an average film full of them.

From Awards Daily. IF there’s a chance it would be thanks to Frances McDormand superpower on Hollywood imo (Dream Team, if you ask me)

A lot of beautiful tweets about the movie. So I’m really happy. I have to say it’s not weird Rooney is in a low key position in the awards conversation because Ona in the book is a very introverted, subtle, deep role. That’s why Rooney got the part. It’s not showy awards wise. I’d say Rooney in every film avoids being showy awards wise. Anyway if the film works this good it’s because Rooney is perfect as Ona because (at least in the novel) she’s a big part of the structure of the story. I’m sure. I’ll be more than happy if this get BP and Polley-Foy-Buckley nominations and probably would be happy Rooney too. Someone people commented Rooney and Ben chemistry is heartbreakingly good and this is special because I think Whishaw is a brilliant and adorable actor.

Obviously I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm a bit annoyed with certain comments from “critics” who say that a mistake of the film is that the cinematography is ugly and dark. It is the story of repeatedly raped women who live in a world biased by the male will. It is impossible that Sarah and the DP showed a bright and beautiful world. It would be even dangerous to send a message like that. The cinematography must be a reflection of the world to be shown and even an emotional projection of the characters. It's not that everyone has to find the film perfect but that is a pointless criticism and the use of cinematography as a signifier is something that a professional critic should understand. I don't know much about the DP body of work so I'm not defending him as a fan but the relevance of DP aesthetic choices in general.
In other topic, I hope to see Ben Whishaw and Rooney Mara off screen interaction in some point of the press. I think he’s great.

You know, it's a little off-putting when you read Oscar predictions and find Jessie Buckley, Claire Foy and Ben Whishaw in almost everyone's Top 5 in their categories and, on the other hand, Rooney is nowhere to be found. Not a trace.
Is her performance such a non-starter with the audiences and pundits ? Is it possible that, despite being something of a leading actress in this, she is completely overshadowed by the others ?
Kinda hurts if that's the case (even if you don't look at it primarily from awards' perspective)
