You know, it's a little off-putting when you read Oscar predictions and find Jessie Buckley, Claire Foy and Ben Whishaw in almost everyone's Top 5 in their categories and, on the other hand, Rooney is nowhere to be found. Not a trace. Is her performance such a non-starter with the audiences and pundits ? Is it possible that, despite being something of a leading actress in this, she is completely overshadowed by the others ? Kinda hurts if that's the case (even if you don't look at it primarily from awards' perspective) Rooney got the calm one. Ona is a subtle, introverted character in the book and that’s why she got the part. Rooney probably goes deep in her inner life as always does and makes Ona not showy awards-wise. Rooney didn’t like that kind of acting as you know so…. I used to be “sad” for this but now I just think Rooney is out of their league. Avoid being showy awards-wise is a good thing for the film. I mean Chastain won for that horror show last year.. I can’t

The Fabelmans wins TIFF People's Choice Award. Women Talking is 2nd, Glass Onion 3rd.
A good sign for WT Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.
