Poor Claire Foy. She campaigned hard. And of course, Women Talking didn't make the PGA's cut which - together with other major misses - seems like final nail in the coffin. And after watching it, I'm not really surprised. Expected much more from Polley here. I'll be honest and say that I lost interest (not totally but...) in the movie back in August/September after reading that Rooney is completely overshadowed by Buckley and Foy. Sorry, but that was just too much, kinda felt bad for her.

I think the change of narrator from the book It could be detrimental to her role. She said that she filmed more scenes with Ben that are not in the film. The book is about Ona a lot. I find it interesting that Ona is based on a real character very dear to Miriam and she talked to Rooney about her.

And... Women Talking made it! Rooney's movie made it again in the last moment ✌️ Hey, I'm all for this. This is her 5th project nominated for Best Picture (right?). Should have been 7th but...

Not that my opinion is especially relevant lol but there is talk of a certain injustice for not nominating the girls in acting and I think that beyond the fact that votes were probably divided between them I think the nomination for best film is a greater and more relevant achievement. Sure, the girls are talented and have a great reputation among moviegoers. The same Sarah, but we must not forget that it is a film that, due to its theme and scale, could be stuck in the “indie gem” category and broadcast on the Sundance Channel and seen only by moviegoers. The Oscar nomination gives it publicity, distribution, massiveness. And for the ambitions with which the film was made, there is no better setting. I hope Sarah wins for screenplay. I think she deserves it for her career. The Female Directors issue… I think it’s bigger…. A systemic problem The friendship between Claire and Rooney is nice. She talked about Rooney here: 17 aprox 11 aprox

Amazing things about this video -Rooney read Women Talking in her 3 persons book club! (Hiraeth ladies maybe?) and emailed Sarah “kind incessantly” for the job! Legend behavior if you ask me :) Rooney liked Ona and Salome but Sarah didn’t see Rooney as Ona initially so that’s probably why Claire auditioned for it earlier. -Rooney good mood. -Rooney has suffered with costume designer process in her career a lot.
