Is the Zach Cregger 'Weapons' movie going to happen? It's not on the list on IMDb.

Is the Zach Cregger 'Weapons' movie going to happen? It's not on the list on IMDb. I'm afraid it's not happening (for Rooney at least). Back in May I think Jordan Ruimy posted on his site that Renate Reinsve was cast in lead role instead. Rooney very likely couldn't do this and 'The Island' at the same time. And then 'The Island' production was postponed because of strike. Bad luck for Rooney all around but we are used to it. Besides Rooney, Elizabeth Olsen was supposedly also rumored for the lead. Not optimistic about this strike. It will seriously fuck up many indie productions.

How about Polaris, anything new on that? Is she still attached?

How about Polaris, anything new on that? Is she still attached? Polaris is dead for quite some time. Not even on upcoming project list on Lynne Ramsay' IMDb page. If I remember she said in some interview that there's no enough financial backing for the project. Even if it happens sometime in the future I highly doubt Rooney will be part of it. We founded this forum in early 2017 when old IMDb forums were shut down. Since then, for the previous SEVEN YEARS Rooney worked only on THREE PROJECTS (four if you count her two minutes work in DWHWGFOF). I'll repeat - THREE movie projects in SEVEN years! No matter how you try to put it, I find that freakin' unbelievable.

And despite that, she was attached to things that fell by the wayside. If they hadn't I think things would've been fine. A lot of not so great luck. Truly hope the Hepburn project sees the light of day.

And despite that, she was attached to things that fell by the wayside. If they hadn't I think things would've been fine. A lot of not so great luck. Truly hope the Hepburn project sees the light of day. You're right about some projects falling by the wayside, these things is impossible to control in most cases so it isn't Rooney's fault but I think she gave up easily on some promising projects like 'Vox Lux' or Creeger' new horror flick. Of course, we don't know any details why she left those and I very possibly could be wrong on this but in the case of 'Vox Lux' it was a great (lead) role on the paper, could have been the most interesting and complex role for Rooney since 'Una' or 'Carol'. I could easily imagine a lot of actresses fighting for the part like lionesses, convincing sceptical producers that they are right choice. Again, we don't know exactly what happened with Rooney and this movie but it looked at the time like she easily left this one sleep out of her hand, not even trying much. Yes, motherhood is obviously priority for her now and it's impossible to criticize that but it doesn't seem like a sole reason why her movie career slowed down. Remember, in 2017, 2018 and 2019 she didn't worked on any movie and she wasn't even a parent yet. Idk, she works very little now and even when she works it seems like she is two steps behind other actresses (I don't get it - she only recently realised that Sci-fi and horror genre could benefit her career (Polaris and Creeger' movie)? She could have done a lot of these in the 2010s when her name was more recognizable. What to say? We hope with each year something to happen, to move her career forward at least a little bit but that "something" is never happening. It's disappointment after disappointment. She is losing that small number of remaining fans this way. And who can blame them? In 2017 this forum was solidly crowded, remember many of them. Now, it looks like Godforsaken place. Let's see what happens with Audrey biopic but I'm not an optimist, especially with this strike going on. She is producer and she said she feels like she needs to do it (right?). It's a kind of test. Does she have energy and interest to push this project to the end (with Guadagnino or someone else)? Hopefully yes. If not...

SAG AFTRA strike has just officially began.
God help any upcoming production now. It seems Gladiator 2 already stopped. Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt left the Oppenhaimer premiere according to Christopher Nolan. There's more.
Actors and writers are definitely right and they should be supported in their demands.

But - to be really honest - Hollywood can crash and burn. The way what it looks right now I doubt it will be missed by any true film lover. Maybe after potential collapse something better can be build on its ruins. Similar to mid-to-late 1960s.
