is Joaquin supporting or even though Rooney is lead, could he be the other lead? At first I thought he would be supporting since Rooney is the title character and the whole story revolves around her. But now I'm rethinking it

Jesus as supporting role sounds so funny he has a lot of scenes, crucifiction, baptism in the river, cleansing of the temple and probably a few more, at some point i was even worried that's too much of Jesus, and Mary will be pushed to the backround. i would hate that. Joaquin could go for a lead, it's so much easier when there aren't two women or two men almost equally in the center, Harvey will make it work, whatever is necessary ;) i wonder how will promotion go, if J will be working on his new movie, hopefully he'll be back before november, or he'll take some break. another thing, i'm curious about his approach as an atheist to this story. Rooney's catholic background can be helpfull, but i'd like to hear her "adult" thoughts about religion and faith!

Pie scene is enough ;) perhaps, especially if one of the highlights of the movie and it's five minutes long (or more ?). Look at Judi Dench winning for Shakespeare in Love in 1998. You can find more examples in the history of Oscars.
Even if this does not work (and probably won't), AGS should be of much help for eventual MM nomination. Maybe crucial if Oscar voters are undecided when the time comes.
But do not underestimate A24... Mahershala deservedly won for 10-15 minutes screen time this year.
Speaking of Moonlight, when are you going to give it that re-watch you were going supposed to...
In a two weeks; I'll let you know about my thoughts this time : Loved it (you've seen my updated "Best of 2010s" list on IMDb and Letterboxd), just had some small problems with structure and transitions. The first chapter was my favorite and I wish it lasted a little longer.
Need to watch Arrival and Manchester by the Sea again, also.

I'd bet she is agnostic now, like most of us

I'm almost certain she is. She said something to the effect that she was initially apprehensive to take the role because she's not religious and didn't particularly care about the bigger meaning behind the story/characters.

Any guesses on a release date for this?.I`m thinking it will get the same release date or thereabouts, as Lion.If it goes to Toronto we may get a trailer before that, late Summer maybe.
