I am curious about this movie but I live in New Zealand and there's no offical release date for The Secret Scripture in NZ 😕 In the meantime maybe you could read the book, it's a big drama. I'll definitely check it out when I can.

The Secret Scripture to have Irish premiere at ADIFF ahead of nationwide cinema release in March The Secret Scripture will have its Irish premiere at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival next month in the Savoy Cinema on 18th February. Jim Sheridan will be in attendance as will many of the cast including Vanessa Redgrave who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Volta Award at the festival.
pretty sure Rooney won't be there, but oh how i wish she could hang out with Dame Redgrave one more time, they were so lovely together at TIFF

Thank you Nenya! the other one was more of a copy and paste of ATBS, this one I like the colors, however it doesn't reflex the colors we've seen in the 2 trailers, I won't mind if the final edit of the movie will have this palette, I love it! :)

I'm very puzzled right now, one of the reasons I don't like an adaptation is when they change everything, but in rare times I like them more because they shape it better...I was curious about how a particular scene with Rose and her father would work out, she was young, it was a shocking part in the book for me.

So this means, the film is 100% different from the book?
Probably not 100%, but I'm sure 60-70%. Some important characters from the book are missing and most of the ones who are there have completely different backstory/background. For example - in the book Roseanne's father is the major character at the beginning, Jack Raynor's and Aidan Turner's characters are brothers, priest (Theo James) is somewhat older and not in love with Roseanne (at least, I don't remember it) etc.
