I want her Oscar win (if she ever does win one) to be under the Fincher's direction. I think her best shot at winning will be for House. So adding Fincher to the mix would only make it more perfect. He´s too expensive and maybe just too pragmatic for this kind of project? Yeah I used to feel a bit similar to what you're saying, whenever I thought of Fincher for the project before (especially about the financial aspect), still do to an extent. That's why him helming (though sounds like a great idea on paper) seems a bit far-fetched in reality. But I would still love if he could do it.

I don't know...except TSN Academy didn't like Fincher's movies very much. Fincher directing Roons in House would be sooo good by I'm not sure about Oscar. Nomination ? Yes. Win ? Not sure.
Maybe Vox Lux performance has more chance to get some awards ? Or it will be too much euro-artsy for Academy ?

Yea, I get what your're saying, but you need to take her role in House into consideration too. It's brilliant and supremely unique. It was also super coveted by other actresses during the bid where Annapurna bought the rights along with Rooney.

I know, I'm super excited for this project; but Fincher's style is "too cold" or "trashy" for Academy members :smile2: Emotional aspect of the story should connect with them, surely.
It's too early to talk about Oscars and the movie doesn't even have director yet . The most important thing right now is that House is finally in motion . We've been waiting for this so long.

Very curious about the reason of so much mystery around the director. If they'll be filming in September, the person must be attached while ago The best shot to an Oscar is Mary Magdalene because Harvey. She doesn't campaign well enough for win with a small company behind

It does feel like we've been waiting and praying for this forever. Not Song to Song/Weightless type forever, but still

It does feel like we've been waiting and praying for this forever. Not Song to Song/Weightless type forever, but still With STS at least we had proof it was being made and tons of spoilers from fans. Here The pre-prod has been very long. Talking about spoilers, I'm doing my best not to check out the STS and TD threads till I see the movies.

Same here, I do go over to those threads, but mostly just skim through the posts to see if there's any imp news. The key to me is to stay away from spoilers and videos. So I go over there basically just squinting my eyes, the same way I would while watching a horror film

What do you guys think of Mira Nair for this? Nice, I liked what she did for "The Namesake"... another rare case of "I loved the movie more than the book".

I hope this film really does happen, the fact that the film is from Annapurna already makes it a promising one and Megan is a great producer. I really want to see Rooney in that role. I read the book a year ago and got to see Rooney in that role, I'm curious as to who they will choose to direct the film. I hope they do not choose someone like Kathryn Bigelow
