Stayed up till this late, just finished watching it a minute ago. You didn't share your thoughts. Did you hate it? I didn’t want to spoil it for the ones that were still watching it ;) , besides, I needed to go to bed. Here are my thoughts: The Plot: I loved it : , when I heart the subject was going to be about after life (2 of my fav movies are about it). The Script: They had a good idea, but the problem I think is that they didn’t know how to deliver it. This was their weakest point. The cinematography: Colours: It was nice, the palette and shades captured the creepiness of the plot. Composition: I think this was my favourite part of the movie, some frames of the “cult” scene when Rooney and Jason meet them for praying were really striking : , i would love to have a few of those framed in my living room. Panning: During some shoot, it felt like the camera was shy to see Rooney, in an angle that expressions were lost, weird because I thought Rooney presence says a lot in no matter which angle you are… there must be some science behind, or a sensible camera/cameraman to catch it. Audio: I don’t know if it was meant to, but seemed as if Rooney had a diction and projection problem or simply they didn’t fix the audio. Almost at the end the volume of the sound effect was too loud that interfered with the conclusion. Score: didn’t blow me away, but I always appreciate the sound of the cello. Acting:Rooney: I’m aware she’s not going to be nominated with this one, but I loved to see her funny-sarcastic. It was funny see her filling her backpack with heavy stuff, I might have woke up my neighbours for laughing out loud and 4 am, it was super funny when she made the phone call :lol2: . Jason: ok Robert: ok Riley: More than the Oks I gave to JS and RF 6/10

The symbol is this, right? Oh, I don't remember if it was somewhere in the movie... I'll check that out later... looks like golden ratios of circles, not sure, I'm so sleepy, I'll check that out later too. Oops, nope, no golden ratio there. But I would really want to know the meaning of it.

Just finished watching it.I liked rather than loved it.Fascinating premise but it felt like Charlie didn`t really know what to do with it.Rooney and Jesse Plemons were both great.Jason Segal was the real problem for me though, zero chemistry between him and Rooney.6/10.

i watched it a few times already, and it's true it gets better and better! it wasn't bad at the first viewing though, i enjoyed it a lot to begin with :D Rooney has quite a range, obviously. i knew that but it's so good and refreshing to see her in something so different, her Isla works so well on so many levels. Will not so much though, Jason wasn't terrible on his own, but i must agree there was something missing in Will/Isla relationship. i'm rather impressed with the plot (i like that ending, although i saw it coming a bit too soon, but the final effect of not knowing what happens to Will and Isla is a good choice), the cinematography was ok, the music didn't register with me at all, overall a solid movie (8/10), i'll be rewatching it and rewatching it for sure. Charlie is on his way to become an unique story teller :

Ok I finally saw it and liked it more than expected but yeah...it has some flaws. Overall, it's very solid, low-key movie but at the end my impression is that Charlie and Justin Ladder have bitten off more than they can chew. Premise is mind-blowing and too much big, ambitious for small film like this. Story finally begins to be "meaty" in the final 30 minutes and then ends rather abruptly and without proper conclusion. Something is missing. Lost opportunity but it was a nice, unobtrusive try.
{Spoiler!} Why was Will on that beach at the end of the movie? It doesn't make any sense if we know that alternate (reset) was based on person's regrets ? Is he got somehow in Isla's alternate-reset life ? Or I didn't understood right some of Isla's words in the 2nd ferry scene ?
After Sundance the problem for many viewers was apparently lack of chemistry between Jason and Rooney but for me it was Ok-ish. Not great but solid. It wasn't a problem for me. We need to see this sarcastic, sardonic side of Rooney more often in her future projects. Very enjoyable performance and somewhat different than we're used to from her. It's funny when she uses bad language
I thought Riley was underused, especially her character's backstory. It felt contrived somehow for me. Jesse Plemons was very good in his supporting role and I definitely see some Phillip Seymour Hoffman vibe in him.
Thumbs up to Charlie for The Master homage(s) . :
Right now - 7/7.5 out of 10. Need to watch again to gather my impressions.

Right now - 7/7.5 out of 10. Need to watch again to gather my impressions. {Spoiler}{Spoiler!} I interpreted it as if it was the next thing after the ferry. Isla said next time it was not going to be the same because he had already helped her move on, he was never able to stope her from commiding suicide until that life. For me the part that had a big hole, was why people were killing themselves without not knowing what was next exactly, or they were doing it because they were not able to handle their lives as they had it.

Right now - 7/7.5 out of 10. Need to watch again to gather my impressions. {Spoiler!} The way I took it was that once he had fallen for Isla, and ultimately "saved" her, her regrets replaced his. And is why he ended up on the beach the day her son was supposed to have died and saved him for her. That's what I took away from the ending and why I loved it.
