Not a fan of Charlie tweeting this. People should be able to understand whatever they want. I don't think that a film should has a external video of explanation. Some ambiguity is healthy especially in a sci fi. I think TD explains well its ending. I don't see that as a mistake

Maybe Charlie addressed to the "lazy" part of his twitter followers ?
It's always interesting to read (or hear) opinions of other moviegoers and their interpretation of enigmatic movies/endings. But this tweet was unnecessary, I must agree with you. Charlie needs to let his movie speak for himself, especially when it seems that The Discovery is one of those movies where we can always catch something new during rewatch (at least I hope so). Imagine PTA or Lynch tweeting something like this. Not very "auteur". :diva2:

Exactly, That´s the the tricky thing of social media, gives too much awareness of how the public perceives you or your work, which inevitably causes anxiety. Regarding the final twist of THE DISCOVERY, I know a lot of people say it's the worst thing about the movie but I disagree. I think it saves it from the shipwreck. For me the first 45 m are great, then the script fails to rush the other discovery and only thanks to the last scene on the ferry the movie can convey its real message that is quite traditional and postulates its faith in the human capacity of learn, and fight for a new opportunity and fight for what you want, THE ONE is about that too. I think the most controversial thing about the film is the decision of Charlie of take distance as director of the world, and the objects to make it look unrecognizable. (It's a beautiful option imo) but in turn requires that the viewer wants to believe in the predestination of a couple of being together without there being a classic emotional scene of them. I bought it cause my personality and perception but I understand why a lot of people do not. PS: Editing a movie about the idea that true love literally transcends everything in the midst of a break up must be the hell. Poor Charlie. Seriously

But something isn't true. He didn't let the camera in disposition of Rooney's talent like others directors does. He's not that kind of filmmaker and TD is not that kind or movie.

Speaking of life dilemmas...
Translate: What a necessary person is Rooney Mara in the world. I don't know if we deserve so much beauty
