"The scene overran, and I was in a really uncomfortable position with a really heavy camera [Laughs] and the scene overran. I was waiting for the director to call “cut,” but he wouldn’t, because the performance was mind-blowing. (....) The scene overran, as in, the actress kept going and the director didn’t call cut. I expected him to because I was hurting. My body was in absolute, abject agony — but the reason he didn’t cut is the reason why my body couldn’t move. My body just froze; literally seized up. Every pore of my body froze because I couldn’t not commit this to film. [Laughs] If I was watching this and then, suddenly, had to move, what an asshole. What an asshole. I, then, would be the asshole that stopped the world from seeing this amazing performance. Do you know what I mean? It’s not just me holding it. It’s me going, “The world is going to have to watch this performance, and, if I stop it, I’m responsible.” My body just seized. Froze. How great is Rooney Mara? Rooney Mara’s great. I mean, what can I say? I can’t lie to you: she’s an incredibly photogenic and incredibly inspiring actress. She’s one of, if not the best, of her era, of her ilk. Every time she walks in the frame, you go, “Ah. The world is good again.” So, yeah, no — she’s amazing. And to light, she’s incredible. She actually emits light; she exudes light. What festival do you think this will premiere at? I'm thinking either Venice or Rome. I hope it's Venice.

2017 feels like a big year for her with this, Ghost Story and Una slowly getting distribution. The next two years seem to be just back to back of really great central leading roles with her. Hope she gets some major attention at awards season. Her career really feels like it's about to set off in a big way (not that it already wasn't exceptional to begin with).

www.smh.com.au/entertainment/movies/director-garth-davis-lion-has-unlocked-emotions-people-didnt-know-they-had-20170207-gu77fk.html Garth talks a bit about Mary Magdalene: He says Mary and Jesus will be "very relatable, very human" in the film.
"It's going to be a film that people are going to connect with as well," he says. But as the likes of The Last Temptation of Christ and The Passion of the Christ have shown, there is also the potential for controversy with a Biblical story.
"You're not going to please everybody in this landscape so I'm sure there's going to be some controversy but it's not controversial really," Davis says. "I wouldn't have the same concerns as the other films before us, put it that way."

I wonder if they will release it in November? Seems to be the best date (awards wise, since Carol & Lion launched in November)
If reviews are positive (and we all hope this to happen) - yes, absolutely. Almost certainly in Thanksgiving week. Depends also on other Harvey's horses in the race next season.
