Just thought I'd ask something. Which Terrance Malick movie should I start with first? (Since Song to Song is coming soon and I haven't seen any of his films) It is best to watch from the start and in original order:
Badlands (1973) Days of Heaven (1978) The Thin Red Line (1998) The New World (2005) The Tree of Life (2011) To the Wonder (2012) Knight of Cups (2015)
My personal ranking:
The Tree of Life........10/10 Badlands.................10/10 Days of Heaven........9/10 The Thin Red Line.....9/10 The New World.........8.5/10 Knight of Cups.........7.5/10 To the Wonder.........7/10
Badlands is his most accessible movie; The Tree of Life the best in my opinion (2001: A Space Odyssey level) but not for everyone. When you watch Malick's films you need open mind and a lot of patience. But if you reach any of them you'll be captivated and rewarded.
Malick's films are like poetry - at first sight less interesting than the prose but ultimately more beautiful.

Thanks. I remember a while ago seeing like 10 minutes of Jnight of Cups and finding it very polarising. Would you say it's more polarising than Tree of Life?

(Since Song to Song is coming soon and I haven't seen any of his films) Begin with Badlands, it isn't heavy like his recent work since Tree of Life. Start with that, and if you want to watch more I' would suggest my two other favourites, 'The New World' of course the The Tree of Life', his opus. Enjoy!

It's a weaker movie overall, more boring and more hated than The Tree of Life among non-Malick fans. Nevertheless, I think you should give it a try. I liked it more than I thought I would, especially after critics' reviews. It's one of those films you have to leave aside and watch them how will age over the years. At this point, it's hard to say. You'll have real impressions only after watching.

Like everyone, that's the first thing I saw him in. He's terrific in it. I binge watched the first 3 seasons, and I need to catch up. I remember being so obsessed with the show and his character. It looked like a tricky one to play too, as I feel it could've gone a completely different direction if it not in the hands of a talented actor. With all the craziness that came with the character I found him so endearing and lovable which also matched up with Hannah so well

The new season is starting off pretty great, Riz Ahmed pops up in the first episode. Lena Dunham and all the writers write that show so perfectly. Girls is a really interesting show. Glad you like it. Lena's book is good too. Plus she's friend with Rooney, Kate and Charlie. The NY scene, you know. Lena's review is in the Charlie McDowell book which I didn't read it. I'm not interested, honestly. Others must-see of the gang are Frances Ha and Tiny Furniture.

Are they're any other movies you guys are interested in or looking forward to? :) Apart from all of Rooney's films, Call Me by Your Name, Wonderstruck, Euphoria, The Big Sick, The Nightingale, Downsizing, You Were Never Really Here, Radegund, the new Marion Cotillard and Charlotte Gainsbourg movie (Ismael's Ghost, I think it's called) and the new PTA movie (if it's ready for this year).

Yup to The Beguiled. I hope this is one of Sofia's better films, The Bling Ring (apart from the music, and the cinematography) was a big disappointment. Really liked Emma in it, it was interestig to see her in something different than HP, But the MVP for me was Katie Chang. She was so good.
