Has anyone seen THE HANDMAIDEN? I've seen a lot of people talking about it, I think it got a lot of buzz at Cannes? (Is that the right festival it premiered at?) Is it good? Worth checking out? One of the best films of the year. Absolute travesty that it wasn't nominated for best foreign film. It and the Wailing are great. South Korea is on fire this year.

Anyone looking forward to David Lowery's new film starring Robert Redford? Filming is suppose to begin soon. Me. :)

It seems Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash, I Am Love) has an Oscar nominee coming his way this year! Call Me By Your Name opens Nov 24, which probably means Oscar Campaign. I liked A Bigger Splash. Tilda at her best and a very nice direction. The script could be way better but still he's a filmmaker to watch. Looking forward for Call Me Regarding awards I think it has a chance in acting categories. The kid is so good. I loved him in Miss Stevens (a little gem) but The Academy will be back to its blindness pre- Trump so that's it.

Oh, I had no idea Richard Linklater was directing it , I hope someday Rooney works with him ;) . I have that book on my want to read list since before I knew Cate was going to be in the movie, just delaying reading it because I want to read everything on my list.

i find it a little bit overwhelming and quite frankly ridiculous, everything has to be remade and extended indefinitely? where's a room for new original things? 120 Movie Remakes and Reboots Currently in the WorksETA: sequel made from a pure greed (like Sony is doing) isn't worth of anybody's time and effort, imo. Rooney would be pouring her heart and soul in it again, to make rich assholes from Sony even richer...she's better off.

This greedy, non-original, big studio Hollywood system needs to collapse in the same way it happened in the mid-1960s. I'm sure it will.

Kate is good enough on her own, but i can't help and notice her similarity to Rooney, just in a few glimpses from the trailer, but it's there :D . movie looks ok
