I feel like I'm the only one who still hasn't watched Lion :'( He made me forget I went to see Lion in order to see Rooney, then when Rooney appeared I was like OMG Rooney is in this movie too!!!... that was how good he was, amazing for being his first movie and for someone who had no notion what a movie was, Garth must be a magician as Sunny said :) I really hope the rumors about that Garth movie with Rooney and Sunny are true.

Moonlight was snubbed in a few important categories at BAFTAs, Which could mean they weren't big on that film compared to other awards bodies (just speculation). If true then there might be a possibility Dev could pull an "upset". I wouldn't put my money on it, but I wouldn't rule it out either. BAFTA's are going to be interesting, their choices sometimes can really be a "WTF?". But I think Aaron Taylor-Johnson takes the prize for that this year, His globes win was so random

Last year Mad Max: Fury Road was also snubbed at the BAFTAs (not even nominated in the main categories) but won six Oscars. Moonlight will win some Oscars - Supporting Actor for sure and maybe Director or Score but it has misfortune (like every other movie this year) that La La Land will sweep almost everything. I hope Mica Levi's work on Jackie will be recognized but I'm not big optimist.

I agree that Moonlight's going to win some Oscars, it's the BAFTAs I'm worried about. I think Mahershala is ultimately going to take the Oscar home, But not too sure about BAFTAs. Dev can pull an upset. But again I wouldn't put my money on it. LLL's going to sweep, But I really hope that Barry Jenkins pulls an upset and takes the Oscar for both Screenplay and Director home. One can dream, right? :smile1:

Emma has Oscar in her pocket, right? I'm team Huppert for the record cause Natalie already has one.

I was team Amy here at the BAFTAs because it was her last chance and she deserved a win for a wonderful performance. But at the Oscars I'm team Portman, though I'll be more than happy if Huppert wins, she gave a tremendous performance as well.

Really bummed Moonlight didn't win a single thing though. Oscar voters being a different set gives me hope that it will be a different situation there. Even if Harvey campaigns harder for Dev now, I still think Mahershala takes it in the end. The most important thing for me is that, I really want Jenkins to upset in directing or at least screenplay, that would be amazing
